Wire Rope Grip
6mm wire rope grips are essential components in securing wire ropes, often used in applications such as guyed towers and masts. These grips ensure that the wire rope remains firmly attached and prevents slippage.
Correct installation is critical to guarantee structural stability and safety. When installing wire rope grips, it is important to ensure that the grip is installed with the U-bolt on the dead end of the wire rope, leaving the saddle on the live end to avoid crushing. A minimum of three grips should be used, with equal spacing between them. The first grip should be placed one saddle length from the seized end of the rope. The nuts should be tightened evenly, applying correct torque as specified by the manufacturer, usually in two stages to allow proper seating of the wire.
